The Contrast Illusion

Fashion is built on optical illusions. Contrast (the difference between light and dark colors) acts as a spotlight for the human eye. By controlling where you place light and dark pieces, you control exactly where people look.

The absolute rule of contrast is that light or bright colors highlight, while dark colors recede. If you want to emphasize your upper body, wear a light top and dark pants. If you want to highlight your legs, as we learned in the previous classes, do the exact opposite.
